Brian Chilmon (1-0) pitched a three-hit, 2-0 shutout in the firstgame Friday for No. 14 Shepard (2-1), but Mount Carmel (6-2) cameback to win the second game 6-4.
Chilmon struck out eight and drove in the second run with asacrifice fly in the seventh inning that scored Dylan Shaughnessy,who had a leadoff double and advanced to third on a fielder's choice.
Vince Kogut singled in the third inning, advanced to third andscored on an error for Shepard's first run.
